backscratcher
2016

This backscratcher was designed for the brand Fortnum and Mason as part of I’ll Take 9 - a project during which we had to make 9 identical items for a given brand. The backscratcher is here completely revisited, both as a product and as an experience, making itchy backs much more elegant. A soft scarf is slided between two pieces of wood, each of them casted with a scratchy pattern. When pulling on the fabric it locks it between the two parts, creating a double sided backscratcher which you can use in the same way you would use a towel to swipe your back. The object itself is reflecting Fortnum and Mason’s essence - floral patterns, organic shapes, soft materials convey a luxury feeling to this object.

Iroko wood, felt, polyurethane resin, digitally printed polyester
